Imo state government have arrested five men in Enugu state
for kidnapping two children.
The gang attacked their home in Uzoagba in Ikeduru Local Government
Area in Imo state and made away with the children. The kidnappers took the abducted
children to Enugu state and sold them for N1.1m.
The suspects are Obinna Eze, Oluchi Chibuike, Vitalis
Lumanze, Nkiru Nwanedu, Chinyere Nwudu and one Jacinta were arrested for kidnap
and child trafficking of a five years old boy Francis with his two years old sibling Chinasa
Nwachukwu.
The police reported that two of the gang members by name
Oluchi and Obinna took the children and sold them to one Ms Nkiru Nwanedu for
N1.1m after beating their mother to coma along a thick bush. Believing she was dead
they made away with the children to Enugu State where they had a waiting buyer
who paid them well for their services.
The police promised to
carry out a thorough investigation to see to the fact that one of the gang
member by name Chinatu is brought to book.
