Yesterday a 33 years old mother of two was arrested for trafficking in the prison.
The officials of the Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) in Abeokuta,
Ogun state arrested Fatima Balogun for making an attempt to smuggle a cell
phone for her armed robber suspect boyfriend who have been in prison custody
for six months.
Fatima claimed that she is a divorcee who found love but lost
him to the prison house. Being her only source of happiness she has no option
but to hide a phone in a cooler of soup so that she would communicate with him
since she misses him so much.
CP Benson Abolade the Ogun State command controller of prison arrested her with the charge of prison trafficking with reason of using her as an example for others who would trade their emotions/feeling against the law.
