A Pennsylvania woman who beat and tied to strangle her daughter for incorrectly reciting bible verse has been sent to prison.
Rhonda Shoffner forty one years old was sentenced on Wednesday
to two and half years to five years in prison after pleading guilty to charges
including aggravated assault of her daughter who was younger than 13.
She ran to meet the father who then drove to the police
station to make a report.
From her statement, the police reported that the mother
forced her to knell down on the bathroom floor in their Middletown home and
repeat some Bible verses. The mother slammed her head on the wall each time she
makes a mistake. Rhonda also threatened that she will kill her and she
attempted strangling her.
