Manchester United could make two signings in the January transfer window after jose Mourinho identified the need for a central midfielder and a winger.

Mourinho signed 75% of his targets last summer but was aggrieved that the club failed to land Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.

United have made a solid start to the campaign but their success has been overshadowed by Pep Guardiola‘s high-flying Manchester City side, who are 11 points clear at the top of the table.
Maraoune Fellaini has rejected the club’s latest contract offer and could leave the club in the summer on a free transfer.

That has accelerated Mourinho’s demand for a central midfielder and the Portuguese boss has looked at the likes of Dortmund star Julian Weigl and Lazio man Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

A worry for Mourinho is the form of his attacking midfielders with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata both failing to impress so far this term.

Mourinho believes an attacking star could be the ‘missing piece’ in his side, according to the Manchester Evening News, and he’s looked at Bordeaux star Malcom as a potential option.

The 20-year-old’s scored seven goals in 15 appearances so far this term and would give United a further option in the final third.
