Alex 31 and
Sara 28 a couple from California sold all they have and converted it into a
travelling van.
Alex says:
My dad’s diagnosis at 61 made us
realize that nothing is guarantee. We may not be able to Retire at a certain
age and do what we want then, so why not do it now”.
This prompted
a change of view to the couple making them realize that life is too short
Having worked
as web entrepreneurs they used their experience to set up a travelling home by
converting once a humble 2008 Dodge Sprinter to a kitchen, private bathroom and
a cosy memory foam bed that converts into a desk in the afternoon (daytime).
They installed
100-watt solar panels and a tankless water heater which provides hot water in
five to ten minutes.
With their
moving home they have traveled to different d3stinatios like Arizona Antelope
Canyon and Peyto Lake in the Canadian Rockies.
They have
over 19000 followers on Instagram right now simply because they went after
their passion.
Sara says: ‘We’ve met so many amazing
people doing this. Most of our friends are now van lifers too. I would advise
anyone to do what we did. You only live once. You’ll either love it or hate it,
but if it’s not for you then at least you tried’.
